“Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon”
Release Date: June 29, 2011
The special effects are probably the best component of the 3rd installment of the “Transformers” movie franchise, and there are enough special effects to last for three other movies combined. The makers of the movie have implemented enough witty comedy throughout in order to make up for the below average acting done by some of the key characters. You cannot have Dr. McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey), or whatever he is called on Grey’s Anatomy, in an action film. He absolutely did not mix smoothly with the other cast members on screen. Replacing Megan Fox with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is just a tragedy. Huntington-Whiteley certainly has the looks to be in the movies, but watching a “Transformers” movie without Fox in it was just bizarre. I did like John Malkovich and Ken Jeong in this movie though. They provided some much needed laughs whenever they were on the screen. If you are a fan of the first two “Transformers,” then you can certainly put up with this one. It is still a decent watch even though there are a few flaws.
