“Les Misérables”

“Les Misérables”

Release Date: December 25, 2012

Now I know this was a musical before I watched this film, but I was not expecting that nearly every single line of dialogue was sung. This is the first movie that I have ever watched where the dialogue was sung the entire time so it took me a little while to become acquainted with that aspect, but afterwards, I released that this movie will be talked about for centuries to come. I am not the biggest fan of musicals, but I will make an exception for this film. Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and even Russell Crowe do a tremendous job with their characters. The setting is set in 19th Century France where Jean Valjean (Jackman) has been on the run from the fearless officer Javert (Crowe) for many years after Valjean breaks his parole. A factory worker at Valjean’s company, Fantine (Hathaway) is in a very threatening predicament as she is trying to care for her daughter, Cosette, but she makes some bad decisions in her life and eventually Valjean and Fantine come to face to face and both of their lives are changed forever.
