“The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”
Release Date: March 15, 2013
I believe it is safe to say that Steve Carell can be compared to great Babe Ruth. Like Ruth either hit a home run or struck out at the plate. Carell does the same exact thing with his movies. He either hits it really big or just falls flat on his face. There is no in between with Carell. Unfortunately, Carell falls on his face in this flick. While the concept of magic tricks is somewhat intriguing, the physical/slapstick comedy just does not cut it. Basically, the story is two best friends from grade school team up to form one of the greatest magic shows of all time. After years of doing the same performance, audiences become very impatient with the duo and the two friends start growing apart from one another. To make matters worse, a street performer starts drawing in the crowds with his very unique magic routine. With the amount of talent that is in the cast, you would expect a much better film that what was on the screen.
