After giving into temptation, Officer Nick and his partner Hayes decide to stash some gold that they found during a drug bust. Eating away at his conscience, Nick tells his partner that he can no longer go through with keeping the gold. Hayes seems to agree, but during a raid, Hayes turns on Nick and blasts him with a shotgun two stories high. Nick comes crashing down to the floor and then all of a sudden, time just stops. Nick stands up, walks outside and then in a moment’s notice, Nick is whisked away into the sky. Nick is now sitting in a confined room and Proctor walks in and asks if Nick is ready to join the R.I.P.D. or take his chances in facing the pearly gates. Nick, taking his time to figure out that he is actually dead, agrees to join the R.I.P.D. and this is where the lame adventure begins.
To me, this is just a knockoff of “Men in Black.” At least the cast is somewhat pleasant to watch, but other than that, this movie needs a ton of work for it to even be presentable. Staring at Marissa Miller whenever possible also helped out in getting through this movie.
