“August: Osage County”

“August: Osage County”

Release Date: December 27, 2013

Damn Meryl Streep sure can act. Julia Roberts is not that bad herself. If you are interested in a film solely based off of acting skills, then this movie is for you. Would I want to watch this film again? Na I think I will pass which means that “August: Osage County” barely misses the cut into the worth buying category. I believe Streep came off a little too strong with her acting and that is one of the reasons as to what cost her a chance at winning a 4th Academy Award. I mean when you have already won 3 Oscars and been nominated 18 total times, might be about time to share some of that wealth. But all jokes aside, Meryl Streep will go down as one of the best actresses of all time.

In this film, we witness the true toughness of a family that have just lost a loved one to a terrible tragedy and even though most of the family have been on their own paths, they all reunite to remember a life of a loving husband and father. Right from the get go, you realize that most of the family members do not get along and they show this in a few funny moments, but most of the time, there is some serious drama going on with every single member of the family.
